About the Project

The inception of this project took place during the 10th Protothon, an event organized by DubsTech and Design Buddies. The outcome of this collaboration is BonVoyAI, an AI-powered travel product catering to the needs of the travel industry. BonVoyAI serves as a personalized travel assistant, empowering users to craft meticulously tailored itineraries and providing real-time travel support for a seamless and enriching travel experience.

The Problem & The solution

The Problem

Embarking on a travel adventure can often present itself as a challenging endeavor, demanding significant time and effort from individuals who wish to curate a memorable experience. The process of planning, with its intricacies and demands, can be overwhelming and leave many feeling frustrated and discouraged.

The Solution

Introducing an exceptional AI-powered concierge that revolutionizes the way we plan and embark on our journeys. This innovative solution seamlessly combines advanced technology and personalized assistance to curate bespoke itineraries tailored to individual interests and budget preferences. Furthermore, it goes beyond traditional planning by providing real-time recommendations and continuous support throughout the travel experience, ensuring a truly unforgettable adventure.

Research Insights

Through a comprehensive survey conducted with a diverse group of 20 participants, we gained valuable insights that shed light on various aspects of the project. The survey served as a crucial tool in gathering quantitative and qualitative data, allowing us to understand the needs, preferences, and expectations of our target audience. By analyzing the survey responses, we were able to draw significant conclusions and make data-driven decisions. The following key findings emerged from the survey:

Users feel like planning a trip takes time and can be overwhelming.

Users fear missing out on personalized experiences that align with their preferences while on a trip.

Persona

Based on the insights gathered from our survey, we have developed a persona that represents our target audience. This persona serves as a reference point throughout the project, enabling us to design solutions that align with our users' needs and preferences.

Meet Fiona!

She loves to travel but struggles to find the time to plan a personalized trip and create a travel plan that stays within her budget.

She wishes someone could plan her trips for her, so she could just spend time enjoying them.

Fiona is trying to plan her trip to San Francisco and sees an ad for BonVoyAI and decides to give it a try.

She makes an account and starts engaging with the AI chat prompts to plan all the details of her trip.

BonVoyAI asks Fiona about her budget, what she prioritizes spending on, and types of experiences she likes to have on her trip.

BonVoyAI always provides options for Fiona so she can relax and know BonVoyAI has her covered. It builds Fiona a detailed itinerary so she can spend more time getting excited about her trip and less time planning it.

Fiona can get real-time support from BonVoyAI to ask it questions or change her itinerary at any time before or during travel.

Next Steps

Improving User trust in AI

Almost half of our survey participants were unsure of or did not wish to use AI. We’re interested in researching why, and thinking of ways to help users accept AI tools more readily.

Integrating ecoconscious traveling options

We wanted to integrate sustainability into the product by offering eco-conscious activities, accommodations, and transportation options. We’d like to explore ways to do this in future iterations.
